Everyday story ~ poetry

Prim and proper,
Clean was the chauffeur.
Not until he drove the car
with the broken window-
Glass, in the corner; unaware
Of the giant puddle in the middle.
His face was greased, his shirt got soiled
His boss was mad for his plans too got foiled.
He walked back home. Got his white shirt laundered
Had it ironed and delivered home
Which was 2 miles yonder.
A button went missing so he had the front side stitched.
Wearing it over his head,
Forgetting all about his stained charcoal face!
